About Me

I'm a young, detail-oriented, information-loving, wonk-of-all-trades technogeek, currently living in Ottawa. I do policy in the Canadian post-secondary sector.

I've been an executive, researcher, lobbyistteacher, event planner, project manager, treasurer, city councillor and editor. When I grow up, I want one of those jobs that doesn't exist yet.

Aside from that, I spend my time exploring things like my city, the news, politics, technology and the internet. I love live music, outdoorsing, eating, and the EFF.

Schooling

I spent a lot of time in a wide range of classrooms, generally themed around numbers. The University of British Columbia says my bachelors is in math, but it's almost also in physics and statistics. Also under my belt is a swath of computer science, philosophy and political science. I'm very glad to have come out of a bachelors well-rounded.

Most of my time on campus was spent in the community. I've worked for a number of UBC organizations, having served in over five executive roles, led over ten committees, managed countless budgets, organized tens of events and launched numerous projects. I also debated. I feel this was more valuable than my formal education.
